Kum. Sai Sruthi and Kum. Sai Sathya are the fifth generation performing students hailing from the parampara of “Sangeetha kalanidhi Brahmashri Papanasam Sivan” who is their Great Great Grand Father.

At a very young they came under the tutelage of Kalakarasundharam Guru Dr Udupi Smt. Madhumathy Prakash(Director-Natya Manjari) who is the daughter and disciple of renowned exponent Karanataka Kalashree Kalaimamani Guru Udupi Laxminarayan.

Sai Sisters have been trained by their guru in the famous Kanchipuram Bani of Bharathanatyam made popular by Kancheepuram Sri Ellapa Mudaliyar which is known for its intricacies and uniqueness.

Sai Sisters have been part of several of Natya manjari’s productions and have also performed duets.  For the past 5 yrs they have started teaching in the Kancheepuram Branch of Natya Manjari with the guidance of their Guru.

Sai Sisters have performed across the length breadth of Cultural Platforms, Sabhas and Temples across the country and won hearts and accolades.

Srivathsan is a young Carnatic star who is known for his creative presentations that are highly aesthetic while also strongly rooted in classicism. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for being a vibrant concert performer with his precise and flowing renditions. His collaborations have also been acclaimed for their originality and explorative spirit.

Srivathsan is a graded B artiste of the All India Radio, Chennai and is a regular performer in the sabhas in and around Chennai and elsewhere. He was recently awarded the ‘Sangeetha Mudra’ award by Mudhra Sabha, Chennai and performed in the December season prime slot, along with stalwart accompanists.

He is also the winner of the coveted Best Individual performer award from The Music Academy, Madras in their HCL Concert Series. He has also won the best vocalist award from VDS Arts Academy, the best Ragam Tanam Pallavi award from RK Srikantan Trust, Bangalore and the Yuva Sri Kala Barathy award from Madurai Yuva Kendra. He has also been a part of the grand finale of the Times Tyagaraja Awards, the Saregama MS Subbulakshmi Awards and Reliance Ilayaragam.

He has been blessed with the Asthana Vidwan honours and the award Sangeetha Vidya Bala Baskhara by the Ahobila Mutt.  He has also sung in most of the popular Sabhas in India, including The Music Academy (HCL and SOY series), Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, Brahma Gana Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Shanmukhananda (Mumbai), Kalasagaram (Hyderabad), RK Srikantan Trust (Bengaluru). He has also performed for and conducted masterclasses in Carnatic music techniques for Milapfest, UK.

Aside from his musical pursuits, Srivathsan is an engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology Trichy and is also a setter of cryptic crosswords for the national daily The Hindu. He has conducted several workshops on the art of cryptic crosswords and has presented documentaries on the similarities between wordplay as seen in Carnatic Music and Cryptic Crosswords.
